#15 Abigail Veldman
Hi, my name is Abigail Veldman. I’m 21 years old and in my second year of the bachelor Medicine. Next to my studies, I’m taking part in the Junior Scientific Masterclass programme. Additionally, I’m a member of Navigators Studentenvereniging Groningen (N.S.G.). In the past few months, our courses have completely swapped to digital education. That’s why a focus on the quality of education is key. Switching to small-scale education in the long term is key, as direct contact with both teachers and fellow students improve the quality of your studies. Lijst Calimero has been committed to improve small-scale education and the quality of education.
Additionally, students need to have space to develop themselves next to their studies. It’s often underestimated how valuable it is to be active next to your studies at an organisation or an association. You will learn skills which are invaluable for your academic career. Because of increased pressure on students and the introduction of the loan system, the amount of active members of associations has dropped. This deserves attention. I’m supporting Lijst Calimero, as they have committed in recent years to create room for self-development due to support for interdisciplinary minors and associations. I hope I can count on your vote!
