#24 Maarten Rikkert
PR & Travel Logistics IBR
Hello, my name is Maarten Rikkert, 23 years old and I will start my MSc Marketing in the upcoming academic year. For the past couple of years, I have kept myself occupied with several activities next to my BSc International Business. Examples are: several committees at my study association EBF and A.G.S.R Gyas and also a board year at IBR Groningen. Also, I work at de Oosterpoort & Stadsschouwburg.
As a student, I"ve noticed that a degree is not always enough nowadays. This is why a lot of students also focus on extracurricular activities in order to build up a strong, unique and excellent CV. From experience, I can tell you that it can be overwhelming at times. The pressure that is put on students nowadays to achieve great academic results, while also gaining enough experience and knowledge, can affect the mental health of many students in the short or long run. That is why I find it important that the university plays an active role in discussing and handling mental health (problems). Do you agree with me and Lijst Calimero? Vote for me!
